Life Sciences
Miss Jane Malden
Jane graduated
from UWA in 1994 with a Bachelor of Science degree majoring in
Soil Science and Plant Nutrition and Chemistry. Since graduating
Jane has held roles focusing on plant nutrition and adaptation;
firstly focussed on mine site revegetation research with the
Environmental Research Institute of the Supervising Scientist,
Jabiru NT and secondly with UWA working on an alternative grain
legume adaptation project with the very successful and industry
focussed Centre for Legumes in Mediterranean Agriculture and
Center for Rhizobium Studies based at Murdoch
University.
Following this
good grounding in research Jane moved to Milne AgriGroup, a
Western Australian based, vertically integrated agribusiness,
where she was responsible for the Quality Assurance and Food
Safety systems within the broad acre operations, stock feed
manufacturing, poultry and piggery production and food related
aspects of the business. Jane has most recently returned
from Melbourne, during which time she was part of the Wheat
Product Development team at AWB, a role focussed on product
development, R&D (collaboration with domestic and
international customers), market trends, wheat quality evaluation
and the classification of new wheat varieties.
Jane is currently
responsible for commercialising life sciences intellectual
property through licensing opportunities, start-ups and joint
ventures.
