Project Manager Commercialisation
Engineering & Physical Sciences Mr Neil PrenticeMr Neil Prentice is a specialist in the area of product development, commercialisation of intellectual property and marketing Following the completion of degrees in Chemistry and Biotechnology at UWA, Neil worked as an Industrial Chemist for a Western Australian specialty chemicals manufacturing company. He subsequently moved into professional advisory services with KPMG in 1997, working as on assisting clients with industrial R&D issues. At this time he developed skills in government innovation programs, IP licensing, deal structuring and transaction issues. Subsequently, Neil moved to progress his career to PricewaterhouseCoopers in 2003 where he left as a Senior Manager in 2005. During his time working for Big 4 accounting firms, Neil completed a Masters Degree in Strategic Marketing form Curtin University, which he completed in 2004. Following leaving PricewaterhouseCoopers he was involved in starting a boutique marketing advisory firm, id Marketing, which provided strategic marketing research, planning and implementation to a variety of companies in the food, chemicals, engineering, financial services and IT sectors. Many of these clients’ projects were involved directly in the commercialisation of innovation. Neil is currently responsible for commercialising intellectual property in the Engineering and Physical Sciences area, through licensing opportunities, start-ups and joint ventures.
